For software wizards like Microsoft it's absolutely unacceptable Microsoft needs to get its shit together with the store, for too long its been garbage. Luckily I finished gears4 but wanting to play a horde match with friends found that the store corrupted my installation forcing my friends and I to pick a different game for the evening.

The update process is slow, prone to unexplained errors and if anything fails mid stream then enjoy downloading everything all over again from scratch. So for monstrous games like Gears4 require +200gb free to update. Not only is it unreliable but software requires DOUBLE the disk space of what you're updating.
It's improved but no where near as convenient as the 360.
This gen the xbone launched with terrible updates, seemingly taking ages to install. It's crazy to me because the 360 was fucking awesome with updates, they were small, fast and convenient.

It appears that game downloading is attached to the Windows Update process, not sure how related they are but basically if you can't update Windows you can't download anything from the store. This time, the download is failing for some reason so I start troubleshooting that. I run through all the troubleshooting I could think of and decide to uninstall the game and re download it. While researching it I discover that the port was not very well made and many people have had issues. I try a few more times with the same result and start the troubleshooting process. I haven't dealt with CTD's for a while, can't even remember what was the last game that failed like that. The game starts loading and then crashes to desktop. The title screen comes in and invites me to play "A" to continue. When it finally finished installing, I launched the game but didn't get to play it (I was too busy with AC7), just got to the title screen and left it.Ī few days later I decide to launch it and play it for the first time. It's a 131 GB download from the Windows Store so I had to wait for a day to play it.
